Students will leave an RBL show with a clear, fresh understanding of Shakespeare's words.
Every decision we make is guided by the aim of making theatre exciting and accessible to people of all ages and backgrounds. There is nothing patronising about our shows - far from it - but we do concentrate hard on engaging young people who might not enjoy education, let alone Shakespeare.
"I wanted to tell you how much our students enjoyed last night's performance. It was the first time the majority had seen a live theatre performance and they were captivated . . Many kids cannot afford expensive trips to London and are doubtful as to whether or not they want to attend. They now want more, which is brilliant."

We know what the GCSE and A Level syllabi require and we are always checking what's being studied at college and university, so we are adamant that our productions address all that is required of anyone studying English, Theatre Studies, Drama or any Performing Arts related course.
"I just wanted to tell you what a marvellous performance it was yesterday. I have seen other productions, but I think yours was the most affecting production I can recall. Exhilarating and emotional, you kept our girls spellbound. I blubbed during the closing scenes!"

Our free, downloadable Education Packs are study aids of the very highest quality. They include interviews with core company members, inspiring activities, original critique ideas and stacks of stimulating, unique ideas for pupils to digest before, during and after the show.
"Our students thoroughly enjoyed the production. Some had asked if they could leave early to avoid waiting an hour for the bus but by the interval they were all ready to brave the elements as they wanted to watch the end. It was just perfect: the setting, acting, lighting, music... everything."

"This was a night to remember. Certainly for me it will go down as the best 'Romeo and Juliet' I have seen in my fifty years of theatre going, demonstrating how Shakespeare's genius is relevant to every age."
